Dynamic movement with the sliding frame
The sliding frame is part of the mechanic feedback systemand makes athletes understand very crucial issues without a lot of talking:
Click on CATCH, MIDDLE and RELEASE to explore basic phases of the stroke.
The body position at the catch is caused to a large extend by the release movement.
From exerience we have learned, that the feeling of pushing the boat away with the legs creates the most optimum power build-up and the smoothes boat motion.
Pulling the boat towards yourself and pushing it away during the phase of power application makes it far less relevant if semeone comes to the catch slowely or fast.
During middle phase when coming to the catch it all comes down to the question: Do I move the boat or myself?
Moving the boat means pulling the boat with your feet in the very direction of its motion towards yourself - this results mostly in a perfectly smooth boat motion.
Moving yourself means actively going against the direction of the boat to the catch - often resulting in an unsmooth boat motion.
Remember: it is the boat that needs to cross the finish line first - not you. BIOROWER helps you to understand how to make your boat faster than before.
The release position is all about preparing for the next stroke. What you do right at this stage helps your following stroke.
What you do wrong, cannot be compensated later during the stroke anymore. Better than the boat, the BIOROWER shows with its mechanic feedback
how to distribute the body weight in order not to disturb the fluent motion of the boat.
“I was able to enhance my
stability for any stroke rate
by training on the BIOROWER
with live biomechanic feedback.
I could have never done this on
a regular ergometer. Therefore,
winter training on the BIOROWER
has improved my technique for
the boat as well.”
